Church Administrator

Zion Baptist Church is looking for a motivated individual who wants to join our team. The Church Administrator is an executive level church position with responsibility for on-site management and administration of operations at Zion Baptist Church on a day-to-day basis. The Church Administrator is a full-time employee with supervisory responsibility for all non-ministerial staff and designated volunteers with foresight of the following functional operations: administration, facilities and property, human resources, computer/information systems, communications, and the Church Office. The Church Office and building grounds staff will report directly to the Church Administrator as the first level supervisor. The Church Administrator will establish and maintain a positive and effective administrative environment that supports the mission and ministry of Zion Baptist Church. As directed by the Pastor, the Church Administrator will implement administrative, property management and personnel objectives and policies as well as coordinate the overall maintenance of the church’s physical facilities in conjunction with the Board of Trustees. In carryingout the responsibilities of this position, the Church Administrator will coordinate with the appropriate committees of the Board of Trustees (i.e. – Administration; Budget and Finance; Facilities, Utilization and Long Range Planning; Human Resources; Information Technology; Property and Maintenance; Risk Management; and Space Management). The Church Administrator works in collaboration with the Pastor, Board of Trustees, Church Officers and Church Staff for the management, development, implementation, promotion and evaluation of Zion Baptist Church’s vision and ministry through various programs, initiatives, activities and events. The Church Administrator will support the mission and functions of Zion Baptist Church by communicating and interacting with all Church Officers and Church Ministries in support of the approved strategic plan and milestones for Zion Baptist Church. The Church Administrator demonstrates integrity and teamwork in all aspects of the organization’s business; provides exceptional internal and external customer service; and communicates in an open and honest manner.

Financial Manager

Zion Baptist Church is looking for a motivated individual who wants to join our team. The Finance Manager is an executive level church position with responsibility for on-site financial management operations at Zion Baptist Church on a day-to-day basis. The Finance Manager is a full-time employee with the following functional operations: administration of both financial and computer/information systems. The Finance Manager will establish and maintain a positive and effective financial environment that supports the mission and ministry of Zion Baptist Church. As directed by the Pastor, the Finance Manager will implement financial management goals, objectives and policies in conjunction with the Board of Trustees. In carrying-out the responsibilities of this position, the Finance Manager will coordinate efforts with the Budget and Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees.

Project Director

Zion Baptist Church is looking for a motivated individual who wants to join our team as the Project Director of the Genevieve N. Johnson Senior Day Care Center. The Genevieve N. Johnson Senior Day Care Center Program (“Center”) is an Adult Day Care Center domiciled in Zion Baptist Church’s Family Life Center located at 4817 Blagden Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20011. The Center has been in operation for approximately thirty-five years and incorporates quality day care services for the frail elderly as well as recreation/socialization for the well elderly. The Center is located in Ward Four of the District of Columbia and serves residents age sixty years and older. The overall goal of the Genevieve N. Johnson Senior Day Care Center’s Program is to provide an atmosphere designed to enable families to successfully manage the responsibility of quality care for an elderly or frail senior family member in order that they may be able to comfortably remain in their home and therefore maintain a reasonable quality of life for as long as possible by providing various rehabilitative, social and recreational programs, activities and services made possible by the Center. The participants at the Center enjoy recreation and friendship with their peers as well as receive health care assistance and the education they need to function as independently as possible in order to remain in their home environment and local community and to forestall early institutionalization. This would include, but not be limited to, health promotion, social and nutrition benefits coupled with family supportive services via counseling, comprehensive assessments and required resources and services after assessments as well as case management reviews and follow-ups.
